OCZs main product series has always carried the Vertex name. But where the previous two generations have used a SandForce controller the latest fourth generation uses an Indilinx controller. Of course this is not too surprising as OCZ now owns Indilinx.
Armed with 512MB of cache memory for the 128GB and 256GB models and 1GB for the 512GB model the series is able to reach read speeds of a respective 535MB/s.
The Vertex 4 showed that it has no difficulties in matching the performance of the established models in PC Mark Vantage and PCMark 7.
In the synthetic benchmark AS-SSD the Vertex 4 scored very well. Furthermore, OCZ also gives a five year warranty to further emphasize the focus on their latest controller.
